Day of Remembrance

This documentary explores Chiniot’s Muharram rituals, rich traditions, and renowned craftsmanship, highlighting its community unity. Ashura, marking Imam Hussain (R.A.)’s martyrdom, is observed through majalis, Tazia processions, noha khawani, azadari, and the Zuljana procession. A unique aspect is the Shia-Sunni collaboration in noha recitations, reflecting shared devotion. Chiniot’s intricately carved Tazias showcase its historic woodcraft, preserved through the ustad-shagird (master-apprentice) system, ensuring this cultural heritage endures.

Remembering Ar.Shaukat Nawaz Raja

Shaukat Nawaz Raja is a renowned Architect, Urban Planner/Designer and educationist of Pakistan.He has been President of IAP (Institute of Architects, Pakistan) 1997-to 2001 .He has won many National competitions in Pakistan and two competitions in France. Awards: B.arch Gold-medalist, Universuty of Engineering and Technology, Lahore Life time Member of IAP. Life time Member of PCATP. Founding Member of THAAP.

NCA-Thesis Dispaly 2015

A thesis at the National College of Arts (NCA) represents the culmination of a student's artistic journey, showcasing their creative exploration through a focused project that delves deep into a specific theme, concept, or technique, often reflecting on social, cultural, and personal experiences, and presented in a format aligned with their chosen discipline like fine arts, design, architecture, film, or music; the NCA thesis is typically displayed publicly during a dedicated "Degree Show" where graduating students exhibit their final works, allowing for critical engagement with the art community and potential future patrons.

Pietra Dura

The artistry of Peshawar's market, specifically through its craftsmen, carries a rich tradition of skilled work in pietra dura, a highly specialized art form. This technique involves inlaying polished precious and semi-precious stones, and sometimes even shells, into marble to create intricate, stunning ‘paintings in stone.’ Known for its great care, precision, and dedication, pietra dura requires not only technical expertise but also a deep artistic vision.

SACHA SUDA

At the age of eighteen, Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s father Mehta Kalu Ji was disappointed that Guru ji’s was neither interested in farming nor other worldly work. He thought that perhaps by engaging Guruji in trade would not only be a good profitable profession but will also make him happy. Father Kalu Ji gave Twenty Rupees to Guru ji and said, “Buy some genuine goods which can make us a profit when sold.”
